Meet Nelson
It takes something special to rank in the top one-half of one percent of national real estate professionals. Nelson Gonzalez, Senior Vice President of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices (BHHS) EWM Realty, has earned that distinction with deep market understanding, commitment to excellence, and peerless client relationships.
Sales tell the tale. Nelson has closed on approximately $3 Billion in sales across a 30-year career of marketing and selling Miami Beach’s finest luxury homes.
In 2021, Nelson sold $253 Million worth of real estate, ranking #1 realtor company-wide and #4 in the global network of Berkshire Hathaway. Nelson’s most notable sales of 2021 include the famous Al Capone waterfront mansion, 93 Palm Ave, sold for $15.5 Million, 2 waterfront mansions on the Sunset Islands, 1525 W 24th Street sold for $20.5 Million and 1420 W 23rd Street sold for $18.5 Million, Apogee South Beach Residence #2004 sold for $14 Million, 2204 North Bay Road sold for $20 Million, and 4020 Kiaora St in Coconut Grove sold for $10.5 Million.
Intimate knowledge of Miami Beach history—from its 90’s Art Deco renaissance to its current status as one of the most sought-after destinations for high-net-worth individuals worldwide—is key to Nelson’s practice. His insight comes naturally. He was born and raised in Miami, later earning his business degree from the University of Central Florida. Once back in South Florida, Nelson began his real estate practice and joined BHHS EWM Realty (then known as Esslinger-Wooten-Maxwell) in 1998.
Lauded by buyers and sellers alike, Nelson has been central to an array of Miami’s most celebrated transactions—simultaneously breaking a myriad of records. He has been involved in some of Miami Beach’s most significant transactions, including the 2019 sale to one buyer of adjacent North Bay Road properties, offered by two separate sellers…a nearly $35 million transaction. He additionally facilitated the 2016 sale between the seller and the buyer, Ransom Everglades School, of 3551 Main Highway in Coconut Grove for $34.6 million, as well as 2015’s $33 million sale of 5800 North Bay Road to Phil Collins.
Adding to his status as an industry heavyweight, Nelson’s portfolio comprises exceptional listings throughout Miami Beach’s most exclusive communities—from the Sunset Islands, Palm and Hibiscus islands, to Miami Beach’s Millionaire’s Row (North Bay Road) and Pine Tree Drive. Clients routinely return to Nelson for later transactions—drawn to his negotiating skills, uncompromising standards and exemplary personal attention. As an added testament to his top-level expertise and white-glove service, Nelson was voted “Best Realtor” in a 2017 real estate study conducted by Bendixen & Amandi International and the Miami Herald. Over the course of his decorated career, Nelson has furthermore become a trusted resource for top press outlets nationwide—regularly featured in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, New York Post, Miami Herald, The Real Deal, and Mansion Global, among countless others.
Community involvement is also a topmost priority for Nelson. He is a member of the Miami Beach Police League and actively participates in efforts to increase neighborhood safety and help Miami Beach’s less fortunate families. Nelson is an athlete and an avid cyclist cycling 80 to 100 miles per week.
